Thumbellina

Donated by their PTA, W.E.Taylor Elementary School's mermaid rests in the media center. This cutie got her name from the painting technique used on her tail. It's made from using the thumb prints of her students!

We caught her on April 30, 2009

Wow - you've found some great ones! Now that the weather is warmer I'm going to go mermaid hunting more often. I've seen a few and have their addresses written down. I just gotta find time to go back.
I have blogged a few times about my mermaid hunting. I'll be sure to mention your blog on mine! I love your site!

That's funny... I think I left a message/comment on one of your flickr photos! lol... I love finding other mermaid fans! I feel so alone since I think I might be the only local that is interested. The few fans I've come across are transplants and/or navy. I am a local girl who married into the navy. The mermaids started while we were stationed elsewhere. Let me know if you have any questions or need any clues... A lot of them have stories too.
